  3. Long duration current withstand test
  4. Operating duty test
  5. Pressure relief test
  6. Test of arrester disconnectors (required when disconnector is there)
  7. Artificial pollution test on porcelain housed arresters only
  8. Temperature cycle test on hollow porcelain housings only
  9. Porosity test on porcelain housing only
  10. Galvanizing test on exposed ferrous metal parts.

  1. Seal leak test
  2. Insulation resistance test
  3. Power frequency reference voltage test
  4. Leakage current test
  5. Partial discharge test
  6. Lightning impulse residual voltage test at nominal discharge current
  7. Visual examination
  8. Dimensional verification
  9. Verticality check

Routine Tests on a Surge Monitor

  1. Visual examination
  2. Dimension checking
  3. Operational test.

Acceptance Tests on a Lightning Arrester

  1. Power frequency reference voltage test
  2. Lightning impulse residual voltage test at nominal discharge current
  3. Partial discharge test
  4. Galvanizing test on ground terminal bracket
  5. Visual examination
  6. Dimension checking

Acceptance Test on a Surge Monitor

  1. Visual examination
  2. Dimensional checking
  3. Operational test of surge counter.
