Type Tests of Aluminum Bus Pipe

These tests are performed as per IS 5082 (1998).

  1. Chemical Analysis of Aluminum tube,
  2. Measurement of outer diameter and thickness of the pipe (As per IS 2673),
  3. Ultimate Tensile Test with measurement of elongation,
  4. Electrical Conductivity Test.

Routine Test of Aluminium Bus Pipe

  1. Chemical composition analysis using spectrometer,
  2. Checking for diameter, wall thickness, ovality, straightness, and length of each length of the lot,
  3. Conductivity test,
  4. Ultimate tensile test with the measurement of elongation,
  5. Checking for any surface defect.

Acceptance Test of Aluminium Bus Pipes

The acceptance tests of the aluminium bus pipes will be the same as the routine tests. Only difference is that, acceptance tests can be performed on the selected sample/samples only, whereas routine tests have to be performed on the entire lot.
